African American Academy

Seattle, WA

This unique K-8 Alternative school is set in south Seattle and is modeled after an African village. This two-story structure provides classrooms, unique common spaces, gymnasium and multi-purpose rooms and playfields for the Seattle School District.

Cooper Elementary School

Seattle, WA

This new K-5 elementary school houses 600+ students in 75,000 sf of space in West Seattle and replaces an aging elementary school. Features of this facility include (2) two-story classroom wings, a kindergarten wing, gymnasium and multi-purpose spaces, covered play area and on-site child care facilities. This structure is steel framed with a CMU veneer and load bearing masonry exterior.

Thorndyke Elementary School

Tukwila, WA

Thorndyke Elementary is a new school facility for K-6 students in the Tukwila School District. The two-story building provides classroom, an administration space, and library. A separate structure provides space for a multi-purpose room and gymnasium facility. An architectural canopy and covered walkway ties the two buildings together.

Snohomish Hall, Edmonds Community College

Lynnwood, WA

Snohomish Hall was created as a show case facility on the Edmonds Community College campus. This building provides a home for the Business Development program, for the Health & Human Services program, and the offices of the college administration. This structure features a three-story atrium in the center of the building that serves as a gathering space. The atrium showcases the exposed concrete framing system, with a grand central stair and selective wood accent pieces.

Redmond Regional Library

15990 NE 85th Street, Redmond, WA

Designed a new library to serve the growing communities in this area of the county. The library houses the Nonprofit & Philanthropy Resource Center for the King County Library System. The building is a one story wood framed library with brick exterior walls. As a playful touch, some of the downspouts are shaped as gargoyle characters of famous authors. Winner of the AIA Washington Council Civic Design Merit Award.

Woodmont Library

Des Moines, WA

Woodmont Library is a newer King County Library System branch. The stunning building is set apart from the surrounding development by sculpted grounds and distinctive architecture. The library branch is 5,250 sf and provides general information services and programs for its patrons and a Reading and Community Room is available for public use. The large glass wall adds natural light to the interior and provides generous outside views. The building design incorporated brick walls act as a barrier to the noise and activity from Pacific Highway South.

Bitter Lake Community Center

13035 Linden North, Seattle, WA

This 19,500 sf Seattle Department of Parks and Recreation facility includes full-size gymnasium, multi-purpose rooms and various activity rooms. The sloping site offered foundation challenges that required tall retaining walls to fully utilize the property. The center hosts before and after school care, pre-school programs, dance, drama, art and day camps for children and athletic leagues for all ages.

Fire Station No. 1

Moses Lake, WA

This new fire station includes classrooms and administration areas as well as normal firefighting spaces. The large apparatus bay with 12 vehicle doors provides sufficient space to house current 2 fire trucks, 2 grass fire trucks, 1 salvage truck, 1 rescue boat, 2 command cars and any future equipment that the district may need. A training tower was constructed on the site for the firefighters to practice rescue and fire fighting skills.

Sycuan Casino

El Cajon, CA

The Sycuan Casino is a major regional attraction and provides gaming and entertainment for gaming enthusiasts in southern California. This 305,000 square foot state of the art facility features traditional gaming rooms, a 1200 seat bingo palace, off track betting, and a full theater stage.

Copperhill Square

Duvall, WA

Copperhill Square is a four building commercial development based on a mixed-use concept. The structures are designed with a mix of retail, office and residential in two and three-story configurations. Adjacent to this property is the multi-family portion of the development.

University House

Issaquah, WA

University House provides four stories of senior retirement apartments above the common areas on the ground floor. The facility features two beautifully landscaped interior courtyards, a pool and spa facility, traditional dining and activity amenities, and a grand entry and staircase to the library and outdoor deck.

Brandenwood Senior Housing

14520 NE 40th Street, Bellevue, WA

Designed a housing project that focused on providing superior affordable housing for local seniors. This building blended into the scale of the surrounding neighborhood. Winner of the National Council on Seniors Housing Gold Achievement Award.

Columbia Basin Hospital

Ephrata, WA

The Columbia Basin Hospital is a 24-hour physician staffed health care facility providing inpatient and outpatient hospital services to a previously underserved community. The hospital is a Primary Care facility providing occupational medicine, surgical services, obstetrics, gynecology, cardiology, physical therapy and radiology. It serves as the sole community source for healthcare services in Ephrata and the surrounding communities in Grant County. The existing hospital was remodeled and expanded during this project, doubling the clinical space. The hospital infrastructure was updated to allow installation of the latest medical technologies.
