Art is a physical, visual documentation of history, a record of the exact time it is created, an analysis of the place where it is created, a peek inside the psyche of the artists creating it. My recent work has broadened to directly reflect these beliefs. Current, important issues that demand our attention must be addressed and documented in art. For me, these issues are broad and ranging, and include consumerism in America, our present political system, war and death, among others. By painting works encompassing these ideas, I wish to engage the viewer, provoke thought and encourage dialogue and debate.
