Each point has an effect upon the vital energy passing through it.Philip Cusick is also a Diplomate of Acupuncture and Herbology recognized by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. He is a Doctor of Acupuncture in his home state of Rhode Island where he teaches continuing education courses in Chinese Tui Na Massage.
Phil uses his knowledge of Asian, orthopedic and osteopathic healing arts as a tool towards attaining balanced health. The goal is the integration of structure, function and energy.In biomedical terms, acupuncture has been shown to produce a number of effects, some poorly understood by science. Acupuncture treatment releases endorphins, boosts the parasympathetic nervous system, enhances the immune system, and causes a number of other biochemical and hormonal changes. Acupuncture can also release painful trigger points in muscles and effect nervous system regulation of muscle and organ function.
