Typical Session

Bodywork is an art form. At The Bodywork Institute, we specialize in assessing and treating pain issues, posture challenges, functional improvement and overall health maintenance. The goal of a typical session is to assess areas of pain or discomfort. We seek to find the underlying cause in order to elicit the greatest change effectively and efficiently. A typical session begins with a thorough history and assessment of the area of concern. Often, we will assess other related issues, although the client may not be experiencing pain or discomfort there, consciously.

Next, the session is performed in a beautiful, quiet room, on a massage table. We invite clients to "get as undressed as you are comfortable "- much like a regular massage, we usually work directly on the skin in a specific region of the body, while the whole body is covered with a sheet and/or blanket. Since we do not use oils or lotions our treatments are easily performed through clothing as well. Ultimately, the client is always the one to determine what will work best for them!
