Progressive Designs Require a Different Approach
In most cases, a conventional builder’s approach works fine for traditional designs. Many experienced contractors can anticipate the predictable issues associated with a project that is similar to one they have built before. However one-of-a-kind designs, while very rewarding, have more inherent risk. Some General Contractors have earned an undesirable reputation for themselves (and the entire industry) because they treat a non-traditional design with traditional processes and then encounter cost overruns, delays and even necessitate unwanted architectural changes after construction begins.
