Getting Started

Start by creating a service profile. Creating a profile is free, and it’s a great way to make an impression. Customize by uploading your logo, pictures and videos, and your portfolio of previous work.

When you register, you can define the area your business provides services, from a 25 mile radius to nationwide. MiNeeds will then notify you of new leads that match your service area. You can also actively browse your leads from the "My Customers" tab on the top of the page.

Once you find a project you’re interested in, subscribe to a paid package and start communicating with the customer. You can exchange private messages or call and inform the customer about your services. You will be able to receive review from your customers, and they will be highlighted on your profile to showcase your quality and attract more customers.

Creating Outstanding Profiles

MiNeeds provides the necessary tools to create a commercial web presence. Detail your profile as thoroughly as possible. The more customers understand what you can do, the more they will hire you to do it.

Our research shows that personalized profiles receive much higher traffic than generic ones. Make sure to upload your pictures, business logo, and even a video describing your service.

Gather as many reviews as you can from your previous customers. Our customer surveys show that reviews are one of the most important factors customers take into consideration when deciding who to hire. The good news is, we built a feature on your profile that will make this easy for you. After you create your profile, look for the link "Invite Reviewers". Use it to send friendly invitations to your previous customers.

Managing New Leads

Once you define your service area, that’s where you will start receiving new leads.

Make sure to also mark your specialty in your profile so we send you relevant leads. For example, if you are a photographer and specialize only in weddings, then make sure to specify this in the appropriate section of your profile. Or if you are an immigration attorney, mark "Immigration" in the specialty section of your profile so that you can receive the most relevant job requests.

Remember, you can always actively browse customer requests from the "My Customers" tab on the top part of the page.

Can I change notification settings?

Yes. You can change any membership settings by going to “Account” on your profile at any time. You can choose to receive lead notifications via email, phone call, text, or all three.

Will my phone be ringing at night?

No. MiNeeds will only call you during your local business hours.

I receive leads from all around the country – how do I change that?

There's a setting in your service profile called “Servicing clients within = XX miles of zipcode”. Our system uses the location you've entered to send you the appropriate customer needs. You can always change this setting by doing the following:

1) Click on the “Account” tab. Then show “Notification Settings”.
2) Change the setting of “Servicing clients within” to your preferred setting, and you're done.

There’s not enough info in the lead, what shall I do?

Some people post their needs with little amount of info. If you have the customer’s phone number, call them right away. You can send them a message as well asking for more details, but don’t wait too long as someone else may contact them before you and book the job.

Managing Customers

How do you screen your leads?

We make your life easier by doing the screening on our end. You basically tell us how many leads you want in a month, select the types of jobs you’re interested in, and the rest will be taken care of by our smart-matching algorithm. In some cases, we call the consumer to make sure he/she is legitimate. If you have any questions about leads you’re receiving, please let us know - we want you to be getting the best leads for you

How do I know that the leads are legitimate?

Many companies buy and sell leads in the 2nd market. These companies can often have a bad reputation. We are a local services platform where consumers come to post their needs on our site. We don’t purchase leads from 3rd parties and keep the quality really high.

How do I get booked?

The best practice in closing Leads is to communicate with the customer first and land an appointment. Also, you want to contact every customer you can. Converting leads to customers may take more than only 1 or 2 leads. It’s a process and it takes about 5-10 leads to really hone your skills and start converting high and really seeing results.

What is the best time to contact the customer ?

ASAP. Being in touch immediately will make all the difference. A recent study by an MIT fellow shows that if you call the customer within 5 minutes of their posting a lead, they are 20 times more likely to choose your service. How many customers will I get?

That depends on what you choose. You can get up to 5 leads a month, or you can scale that up to 100.

Can I talk to the customer on the phone?

Yes. Once you receive the lead in your inbox or as a text message, we pass you the name and phone number of the customer so you can call the customer right away.

Why can’t I receive leads on my phone?

You can. Make sure you’ve activated this feature and make sure the phone number we have on file for you is up to date. If you’re still having problems, contact us at info@mineeds.com. It’s best to use your mobile number so you can receive leads on the go.

How do I communicate with the customer?

You can call them on the phone, you can email them, or message them through the site. Also, during business hours M-F, we will attempt to connect you to any new customers that match your settings via our live Concierge Service.

Is this profitable? How can I measure the success of this effort?

At nearly 20%, our subscribers have a great conversion rate. It's all about the return on your investment. At these prices many of our subscribers are reporting that they can convert 1 out of 7-8 leads with a great project payoff. This means a booked job can more than cover the cost of marketing, bring you a return customer for life, as well as reviews, referrals, etc.

After you login to your account on MiNeeds, click on the "Account" tab, then on "Notification Settings". From here, you'll be able to manage the job notification settings.

I forgot my password/username – what do I do?

Please click on “Login or Register” tab that's on the top right corner of MiNeeds site. Then click on “Forgot Password?”. Our system will send you an email with a new password.

To change your password, click on the account link here: https://secure.mineeds.com/profile/account. Expand the section titled “Profile” and you’ll see a link to change your password.

How can I change my membership level?

After you login to your account on MiNeeds, click on them“Account” tab. Expand "Membership", and you'll be able to manage your membership. From here you can change number of leads you’d like to receive, and the specialties you’ve chosen.

Points and Badges

Your involvement in the community will get you points and badges.

Points

Community points are a measure of a user's community involvement, reputation and expertise. Here's how it works:

For Questions & Answers: If you post a good question or a helpful answer, it will be voted up and you'll get 10 points. If you post something off topic or incorrect, it will be voted down and you'll lose 2 points.

For Publishing Articles: Your article will get rated by the community. A good and useful article will get more votes and better ratings from the community. Rating scale is from positive 10 points to negative 2 points for each vote. You also have a daily limit to earn up to 200 points.

Earn enough points and you'll be able to:

15 Points - Vote up on questions and answer. Rate articles.
15 Points - Flag offensive content.
100 Points - Vote down on questions and answers. Give negative points to articles.
700 Points - Become a moderator.

Badges

There are three community badges you can earn:

Service Badges are awarded when a service provider delivers quality service and is recognized by MiNeeds customers.

Articles Badges are awarded when your published articles reach a high viewer and rating levels.

Q&A (Forum) Badges are awarded when your answer or question is well rated.

Membership packages

Are there any commission fees?

No. All deals are yours.

Do I receive leads if I’m not subscribed to one of the packages?

Yes. MiNeeds receives hundreds of leads every day and we share these with all our providers for free. If you like a certain customer and you want to contact them, we ask you to subscribe.

Will I be charged for leads I’ve received prior to subscribing?

Absolutely not. You won’t be charged for any leads sent to you prior to your subscription.

Can I change or cancel my subscription in the middle of the month?

Yes. You can change or cancel your subscription at any time.

Will I get charged, automatically, for each lead that comes?

You’ll be charged the monthly fee at the beginning of each month, and you’ll be charged for each lead we send out as we send it.

I don’t understand the charges on my card.

Our Account Services team is ready to go over that with you. We can look into your account to insure you’re getting charged for the correct items. Also, you will want to contact us for a refund before filing a chargeback or disputing a charge. Disputing a charge is a different process. If you contact us for a refund request, we can return the money to your account in 3-7 days. If you go through the bank and file a dispute it takes months to process and get the money in your account. You can also end up paying fees to the bank. It’s often easier to skip the red tape.

What is the best package for me?

It depends on how many customers you would like to contact. You can contact as few as 5, or up to 100. It depends on how active you want to be.

How much do I pay to receive calls and text messages from MiNeeds?

Nothing. Only your cellular provider’s rates apply.

Currently, we do not offer complimentary leads. Our prices are pretty low compared to other lead services, and we believe that within a month you’ll be able to tell if the program works for you or not. Also, converting leads to customers needs more than trying only 1 or 2 leads. It’s a process and it takes about 5-10 leads to really hone your skills and start converting high and seeing results.

Points are never given – they are earned by showing other MiNeeds users that you know your stuff.
