| Description | Need landscaper with integrity and that has references of other satisfied customers of lawns that have been installed. My back yard is top soil that needs to be prepped, manicured, excavated, and raked out for rocks before grass seed can be planted. The soil area needing grass is about 90' by 40' feet. I have a sprinkler system already installed below the top soil around the perimeter of the yard which is out of the way. The soil is mostly level with a slight slope or grade already but it needs to be perfected by some body who knows what they are doing, has tractor experience and knows the proper attachments or machine and tools to use. Landscaper must have own tools, right equipment to get this job done in a timely manner and have pride in work and be honest. Landscape design and plant knowledge is a plus! Have knowledge of best grass seed to use, its application and/or hydro-seeding. Landscaper must have references of customers with beautiful lawns that he has planted or installed that I can go see. Photographs of previous work are a plus! There are some small rocks buried or mixed with my top soil that will have to be raked out or removed before the grass seed is planted. Last year I brought in about 60 yards of top soil and had it spread out with a bobcat, since then weeds have grown up over it but I had them sprayed with a weed killer two weeks ago and now they are dead. I do not want to bring in anymore top soil, we need to use what I have brought in already, and make that work. Who ever does this job, the price must be affordable and be willing to save us money. We are not interested in expensive high priced landscapers. We will be fair but the final cost must be affordable. I had hired a part time landscaper with experience and who was affordable to do the job; whom I had met in person. He had agreed to do the job for me and I paid him to kill the weeds, which he did, prior to coming back to excavate and do the work; but unfortunately I haven't heard a word from him since. So I need to find some one else; it looks like to replace him. His name is, Brent Wastman, and he works for a landscaping company currently full time. I would not have agreed to pay him to kill the weeds, if I knew he was not coming back to start and finish our yard as we had discussed earlier. I do not want to lay down sod unless the price for the sod and labor is inexpensive. I have an area that must be dug out two or three feet deep, starting from my fence when you enter the back yard and around my deck, half way, and then it would stop. This area would have the retaining wall built around it using my existing blocks, or cinder blocks that I bought at "Home Depot." The length of that area would be about 25' to 35' feet long and maybe four feet wide. This area will be at the same ground level as the last bottom stair of my deck or the same level with our septic lid or riser which is at ground level. The rest of the yard around the deck is higher. This job is simple for some one who has all their own tools and equipment and has landscape experience. We would be willing to pay by the hour or the entire job. We have some additional landscaping to do around the perimeter of our yard, like our flower beds, etc. The whole project is dependent upon the cost and with someone with experience and the,” know how,” to get this job done, in a timely manner; having the right tools and equipment and can design or excavate the yard and have it shaped right. Preparing the existing top soil, and making it free from rocks and weeds prior to having the grass seed planted. Our decision upon who we will use will be based upon the person’s qualifications, their landscape design abilities, and references. We appreciate someone who has pride in their work and demonstrates that they care. They know landscape design, have ideas and can save us money and are not just interested in making a quick buck and greedy. Our yard is important to us and how it looks and also the future. Our relationship with the landscaper we hire is important too. We would like to have a lasting long term relationship with our landscaper and refer all our friends and everyone we know because he knew how to take care of us and look after our best interest and does quality, beautiful work and his prices are fair and very reasonable.
