Professional Photographers

In a day and age where everyone has a digital camera and a lot of people call themselves photographers, it's hard to find true professional photographers.  What makes someone a professional photographer?  What's the difference between a pro and a Guy-With-Camera?  Why should you pay more for professional photography services than using your friend who just got a new camera?

Being a professional photographer is not just about handing someone a disc at the end of a shoot and saying good luck.  Being a professional photographer requires attention to detail from start to finish.  From the first phone call to the final professional interaction when the client has the product in their hands; this is what stands pros againsts amatures.   And having fun is most important.  Whether the shoot is serious, casual, dramatic or laid back - laughing and having a good experience is very important.  A true professional photorapher creates an atomposhere and provides an awesome finsihed product.

Experience sets apart a Guy-With-Camera (a commonly used term on photography website forums) and a professional.  Experience and having a trained eye is key.  Professional photog's create magic and put people in certain location with the right lighting and equiptment.  A pro's eye is trained to create beautiful images.  This is naturally what happens!  It's like a painter that gets better over time, the same creativeness happens with photographers. 

Shelling out a few more dollars for a professional photographer makes as much sense as spending a litlte more for a nicer car, or better home.  When you get high quality service and an awesome product from start to finish you should pay more! 

So support your local artists and photographers.  Recognize a professional and stick with him or her.  Have fun and trust the experience of a true professional photographer.  You get what you pay for so stick it to the man and shell out a few extra bucks to support the economy and the arts.  But most importantly, enjoy the beauty that photography allows us to capture and keep forever.  Photography is an art, and that should be respected and adored first and foremost and forever.

Indeed!!!! I'm a trained photographer, i have found myself not get the work. Because the Guy-With-Camera get more of the work do to reduced pricing etc. Great Article!
