Why Is Custom Photography Expensive?

I am often asked why is Custom Photography so expensive?  

First the upfront fee isn't just go to the location and shoot the photos, there is the prep work involved in making the photos just right and give my clients the look they want.  It is more than the couple of hours I spend with a client, I spend many hours editing the photographs, getting exposure corrected, converting images to black and white, etc....

It is also a business, equipment, studio, props, travel time, etc...  

As a photographer it is important to me that I create the timeless look that everyone wants.  That I offer quality work you as an individual pay for.   Photographs are something that stays with us forever, that gives us a memory of where we were at that place and time.  A way of always having those we love with us!  I do think the extra time, effort and expense are worth the end result!
