By reading your request, it sounds like you are trying to save some money. One suggestion is to have a moving company come to your house to handle just the big furniture items. You may also consider using your time a little more efficiently by packing everything and putting the boxes in your garage. It will take less time for a moving company to load 20-30 boxes from the garage into the truck then unload them back into the garage at the new home then it would take for you to take a few trips back and forth.
