MiNeeds Articles -- Education Vs. Advertising

MiNeeds.com has many different types of people that view the "Ask The Experts" articles. Small business owners from many walks of life use the section to talk about their niche and educate people in an attempt to show their knowledge and entice potential customers to try their services.

I received an email tonight from one of the community members who stated that they would place negative reviews about my company if I didn't remove the negative review I left about their company on their public profile.

My first genuine threat from MiNeeds! Woohoo!

The negative review I left had nothing to do with their caliber of service or their level of expertise - but everything to do with their multiple posts per day in the "Ask the Experts" section. This article area is not one company's personal playground to simply copy/paste the same article 20 times a day with a different headline.

I have asked MiNeeds Customer Service more than once to look into the issue of people using MiNeeds to spam the community with 8-10 advertisements in a row. Are people really that desperate for business or SEO backlinks that they need to abuse the system?

Having spent the last 18 months on MiNeeds and speaking with many of the community members here about small business services, website design, marketing and advertising - I've learned one really important lesson - you get out of MiNeeds what you put into it.

So the bottom line is - if you want people to treat your company, company profile, small business or online persona with respect ... you might consider joining the community as a valuable asset to the collective group. Respect in an online forum is earned, not commanded.

Stop spamming. You know who you are.
