I feel that The wedding Ceremony is he MOST important part of the wedding. After all, why else did we all gather together? Yes, it is! Without a doubt that Ceremony is SUPPOSED to be the MOST special part of the night! And yet so many times, we find ourselves wishing the minister would cut it short and get it over with!!!!
Why does this happen?
It's simple, it's merely because the couple didn't take the time to properly choose their wedding officiant.
Choosing your wedding officiant should really become one of your priorities when planning your wedding!
What to do:
Forget about their credentials, and years in the business (sometimes the longer they've been doing this the more tedious they become), what you need to focus on is the CHEMISTRY. Yes, chemistry is the name of the game! It is imperative that you meet with your prospect officiant and figure out what they are all about. Do they represent who you are as a couple? Do you share similar ideas? And will their words touch and inspire everybody in the room as you proclaim your connection to the world? Or will they put everyone to sleep?
Make sure you interview at least 3 officiants, don't think about money too much, and most importantly be very, VERY honest with them! Remember this is not about their liking you but YOU liking THEM! So don't hold back, don't repress your true thoughts or believes in religion, life & love. Be as bold and honest as you can possibly be; and then OBSERVE. Watch their reaction to your words, only then you will be able to determine if they will be COOL, entertaining, lovable, and congenial during the ceremony or will they just be reading from a script.
If you do this part right, they rest of the celebration will just go on wheels...
With love & light,
