You’ve got an important event coming up in the six weeks. You are scrambling to find a company that can assist you in creating flyers to promote your event. Each person you call makes you feel more and more hopeless. Either their prices are too high or the turnaround time is too long. Finally you find someone who can help you, but the problem is it is too late. You have spent months planning an event, but only weeks to advertise it. Now you have to rely solely on word of mouth and social media to get the word out!
The day of your event arrives and a small crowd comes. What went wrong you did everything right. Or did you? Promoting an event is very important. People often say if you build it they will come. But they can’t come if they don’t know where you are or what you have to offer. Promoting an event is so important but is often not recognized as being such. Promotion for an event should not begin 2-3 weeks before an event but months before an event. For example if you are having an event in April, you should be promoting that event in Dec. or Jan.
People should have enough time to prepare for your event by clearing their schedule, purchasing the neccessary attire, etc. Attending an event is very exciting when you have had time to prepare for it. Anticipation also builds up when you have been waiting for months just to attend a banquet or a conference. We all know that feeling. So begin now promoting your event. It’s never too early!
