I realize that you are looking for in your home but if you were to be heading this direction anyway, to lynnwood.. I only take 1 infant under 6 months at a time. I have a low ratio of only 4 or 5 children total and that is comprised of a couple preschoolers, and a couple of toddlers. Here are my resume and references: Hello , Kim watches my son Ethan Monday Friday and she has done a wonderful job. In the past I had paid my Mom and Sister watch my kids while I went to work. My two older kids are big and in school, so when this one came along they were not available to be my daycare anymore. I was horrified to have to find daycare that wasnt family. I was relieved when I met Kim though, especially being a post-partum doula. Ethan will be four months next week and Kim has been watching him since he was five weeks old. Ethan really likes her. Every morning, he gives her a big smile as soon as I hand him off to her. Kim also sends me an email everyday (which I LOVE) that gives me a little update on Ethan like when he ate and his activities for the day. Sometimes I even get a few pictures which are a nice highlight in my day since I am stuck in my office all day. All the other kids that I have met when I am there seem really happy too. Kims place is also VERY kid friendly, there are lots of things for the kids to play with. Kim has also watched my big kids too during the summer and they never had anything but good things to say when they got home. They love it there too. I hope nothing but the best for you in your search for childcare as it can be very overwhelming. And I hope that Ethan will have a new friend to play with soon! ~Andrea _____________________ Andrea McAvoy Assistant Office Supervisor 425.774.1860 x1020 amcavoy@continentalwarranty.net I love Kim!!! She is fantastic with Garrett. The first day we went to meet her he was off playing on his own. He didn't even want to leave. It's like that almost everyday. He's always having so much fun that he wants to stay and play. The last daycare he was in he wouldn't let me leave in the morning. He seems to have a blast at Kim's. Plus she sends me email updates through out the day. Which is the coolest thing ever. I've never had a daycare that sent me regular updates like she does. She lets me know how he is doing in the morning, when he goes down for his nap, when he wakes up, what he's eaten throughout the day. She has even sent me pictures. I'm so glad that we chose Kim. I hope this helps. If you have any specific questions just let me know. :) Jeni Carver Old Republic Title & Escrow Sales and Marketing Asst 425-776-1970 ext 251 Kerry is on dial up now in wenatchee ;) .. so she may not get back to you too quick.. but she will get back to you .. and my 2nd reference is very prompt on emails during the work week .. coming soon -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: bearnecesitys@yahoo.com To: becki@seleneseattle.com CC: kjsma4@gmail.com, yasmin.mckenzie@wci.com Sent: 6/27/2008 11:35:23 A.M. Pacific Daylight Time Subj: Re: Reference Check I don't have a lot of time because we are moving tomorrow. :-) How bout she is wonderful. I could have only hoped to find somebody as caring and understanding as her in a caregiver. Her calm demeanor is no show. That really is how she is. My boy came to her just a few months ago. The previous care giver was making my normally happy and sweet boy insecure and mean. Well, he's a natural crab anyway. All tough on the outside and oh so very tender on the inside. Within one visit, he was comfortable with her. He's been doing great. Even after long days he doesn't come home exhausted and clingy. He just keeps on playing till bed time. He's 23 months now. I really wish I could stay and keep using her. She's great! Kerry Logan From: yasmin.mckenzie@wci.com To: aberryessa@gmail.com CC: RadicalMama62@aol.com Sent: 6/30/2008 2:02:27 P.M. Pacific Daylight Time Subj: RE: Child care refrence Hi Ashley, I think Kim is a great fit for any child. When our son(1 years old) went to her a month ago he had never been in daycare before. We had him in a center for a week and he would cry so much when we left that he was hyperventilating. We brought him to kims house and he was down running around within about 20 mins. He then gave her a hug after about 30 min. There is a just a homey feeling about her house and my son loves it. She also obviously adores children in general which is great. I cannot say enough about her. He plays so hard every day that he is covered from head to toe in dirt(that's a good thing J) I love that he is there. Our 6 year old daughter also started with her 2 weeks ago and she loved it so much that we are attempting to get a variance so she may attend the school closest to Kims. Our kids will be there till they are old enough to not be (if she can handle itLOL). Hope this helps!! Social / Emotional Issues I should be aware of: How can I comfort or make your child feel at home and calm in times of stress, For Example - If your child gets homesick and misses mom/dad; Your child and another child have a spat over a toy; Your child is tired and overwhelmed from the day. Is your child working on numbers, letters, colors, etc? What are your goals for your preschool child as far as learning? Does your child nap or have a rest time throughout the day? If so, about what time? Do you allow your child to watch TV or play video games? If so, how much time per day is ok with you? How do you discipline your child if there is an issue? Time outs ?, Redirection ?, Consequences - taking something away later? I typically use redirection with the younger toddlers. With my older kids, consequences are big.. Usually loss of tv time which is precious and / or video computer time. There has to be a federal offense to get outside time taken away lol.. I call time outs a rest time so that children don’t feel penalized but are aware that they need to chill out till they can play nice Does your child have any incidents of biting or hitting other children? If so, what has worked for you in the past? Please add any other info that you feel will help me to care for and nurture your child while she is in my care. Please feel free to add ANY info you feel will benefit me in caring and loving your child.
