This is the best way I know of to design a logo or to just generate ideas to hand over to your designer. Decide if you want a text logo or an illustrative logo, or a combination mark. Get out a pen and a pad of paper and brainstorm. Think about what your company does, how you want to be perceived. What are a couple of phrases of what you want people to think of when they look at your logo? Possibly take the business name, divide it up and see what types of images come to mind for each...

ALWAYS get your domain name and hosting package in your name and through your credit card or bank account. I cannot stress this enough. What if you wanted to make changes to the account? I have had clients tell me they can't access their own website that they paid for because of this situation.
