Have you ever thought “I’m not going to waste my time attending some seminar?” Even better’ “they don’t have anything to tell me that I don’t already know.” Wow, have you said that too?
Sitting through what can seem like eternity of someone else speaking, good or bad, is not some people’s cup of tea. But wait; maybe you were destined to be there for more than the seminar. Maybe you aren’t suppose to enjoy the speaker. You may not even get all of the information that is being thrown at you for hours on end.
But never forget, every experience is an opportunity. Life is only 10% of what happens to you and 90% of how you react. Maybe the person sitting beside you is your next networking partner. Maybe the women that you helped get her bags to her seat is the VP of a company you have been trying to get an appointment with for months. Just maybe the waitress who serves the refreshment has a sister, brother, or uncle who would be a perfect resource for your business.
I’m not saying that you should attend seminars in hopes of one of these things happening to you. But what I am saying is that seminars are a great way to meet like-minded people in or out of your field who may be interested in a particular subject of interest to you.
The next time you find yourself in a seminar or conference setting, look to your left then to your right. Look behind you and in front of you. I bet you will find that there are at least four people waiting to meet someone like you.

And as always, make each event a Chic Event.
